If you live in the Twin Cities and would like to have a consultation with Dr. Derr to deal with your pet's behavior problem, please call Dr. Derr at 612-360-7227. Her receptionist Jody will return your call after 3 p.m.

Please download the history forms located on the Forms Download Page, fill them out, and fax them to Veterinary Behavior Options at least 24 hours before your scheduled consultation. Dr. Derr's fax number varies with her schedule, so Jody will give you the appropriate fax number.

At your consultation, Dr. Derr will review your pet's history and observe its behavior first-hand. She will discuss ways to control the problem using behavior modification and environmental management. She may also discuss the pros and cons of using medication for your pet's problem. (If medication is indicated, it will be dispensed only after a consultation with your regular veterinarian.) The behavior modification plan will be tailored to your individual pet, and a full case write up will be sent to you and your vet. The initial consultation fee includes at least 6 weeks of unlimited phone and email follow-up. If necessary, a reevaluation appointment will be scheduled, again followed by 6 weeks of telephone and email consultation.

Costs vary with the location of the consultation, but you can expect to pay in the neighborhood of $350.00 for your behavior consultation with Dr. Derr. The fee does not include blood tests or the cost of medication.
