Speaking Engagements

Dr. Derr presented a short communication at the annual joint meeting of the American Veterinary Society for Animal Behavior and the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists in July of 2007. Her paper "The Effect of a Behavioral Enrichment Program on Urinary Cortisol/Creatinine Ratios in Adult Cats in a Limited Admission Animal Shelter" was based on her original research project.

On October 15, 2006, Dr. Derr spoke at the Minnesota Association of Veterinary Technicians meeting at Central Park in Woodbury, Minnesota in celebration of Veterinary Technician month. The two hour talk was entitled "Inappropriate Elimination-Or, Why Cats Do What They Do and How We Can Help Them Do It Less". In conjunction with Vet Tech month, Dr. Derr also gave a talk at Globe College on October 18, 2006 about the Veterinary Technician's role in dealing with aggressive animals.
